WHO WE SERVE

Built around complexity, not income brackets.

We help people whose work, investments, businesses, property, or life transitions create tax decisions that deserve more than a once-a-year transaction.

1

Physicians & healthcare professionals

Multiple employers, 1099 income, practice ownership, student-loan considerations, retirement plans, and demanding schedules coordinated in one tax strategy.

2

Executives & corporate employees

Bonuses, RSUs, ISOs, ESPP holdings, deferred compensation, AMT exposure, and career moves with tax consequences across multiple years.

3

Business owners

S-corporations, partnerships, owner compensation, K-1s, basis tracking, retirement-plan choices, and business decisions that flow directly into the personal return.

4

Investors

Capital gains, wash sales, concentrated positions, private-company equity, digital assets, carryforwards, and transaction timing viewed across the whole portfolio.

5

Real estate professionals

Rental portfolios, depreciation, passive-activity rules, property sales, 1031 exchanges, cost-segregation considerations, and multi-entity reporting.

6

Multi-state taxpayers

Relocations, remote work, traveling roles, business nexus, nonresident filings, and income allocations handled as one coordinated filing position.

7

Retirees with multiple income sources

Pensions, Social Security, investment income, required distributions, Roth-conversion timing, charitable giving, and changing state residency.

8

Families with growing complexity

Households balancing equity compensation, side businesses, investments, property, dependents, trusts, and major financial decisions across generations.

PROOF, NOT PITCH

Where tax software stops.

Four kinds of work we do that software can't.

1

We plan across years, not just file this one.

Equity vesting windows, Roth conversion timing, charitable-giving structure, AMT exposure, multi-year capital-loss carryforwards — modeled before the decision, not reconstructed after the W-2 lands.

2

One strategy, not three returns in parallel.

Your S-Corp's W-2. Your 1040's K-1. Your spouse's income. Your rental's depreciation. Reconciled in one file, by your senior specialist — the same person who took your call in October.

3

The work tax software skips.

Wash-sale corrections, basis errors, AMT triggers, state apportionment, prior-year carryovers. The 5–10% of a complex return that turns “filed” into “filed correctly” — and that volume firms don't have hours for.

4

Secure tools, included.

Secure document exchange, remote signatures, year-round portal access, and audit-support tools are included with every TaxOwl Advisors engagement.

About

Senior specialists. Direct access. Not a call center.

TaxOwl Advisors is a Tampa Bay-based tax practice serving clients across the country through a secure virtual workflow. You're matched with a senior specialist who handles your intake, prepares your return, reviews it with you, and stays your contact through any follow-up. No call-center routing, no junior preparers handed your file, no surprise reassignments mid-season.

The name "Advisors" reflects how the work is done — we look ahead, not just backward. Annual returns are the floor, not the ceiling. Planning conversations happen year-round, not just in April.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Six questions we hear from almost every new client.

Are you a CPA or Enrolled Agent?

No. TaxOwl Advisors operates as an AFSP-credentialed, PTIN-registered tax preparation practice — credentialed by the IRS to prepare and e-file federal and state tax returns for compensation. We are not a CPA firm or an Enrolled Agent practice. Our work covers tax preparation, tax strategy, and accounting/bookkeeping services; we do not issue compilation, review, or audit opinions, and we do not offer investment or financial-planning advice. Representation rights before the IRS are limited to examinations of returns we personally prepared and signed, per Treasury Department Circular 230.

How is a specialist different from a preparer?

A preparer completes the return in front of them. A specialist asks what decisions you're making this year that will show up on next year's return — and gives you a tax-aware answer before you make them. Same person, different posture. We aim for the latter.

Do I need to be in Florida to work with you?

No. The practice is Tampa Bay-based, but we serve clients in every state via a secure document portal and encrypted text/email messaging. Multi-state returns are handled regularly.

What if I've filed late or missed years?

We handle missed-year catch-ups going back up to six years, late S-corp elections (Form 2553), and penalty abatement requests where the facts support one. The intake form is the right place to scope it.

Will my data be secure?

Yes. All document exchange happens through encrypted secure folders — no email attachments. We maintain a written Information Security Plan (WISP) as required of all federal tax preparers, and we verify client identity with knowledge-based authentication (KBA) before any e-signature or filing.

How do I get started?

Create your secure portal account and complete the appropriate intake. We review scope and fit, then send engagement options and pricing before any work begins.
